Point Loma / Ocean Beach

(92106, 92107)

The place where San Diego was first discovered is called Point Loma, and today it remains an integral and beautiful part of our great city. On the ocean side, there are million dollar views with dramatic cliffs and pounding waves below. On the bay side is the corridor to cruise ships, sail boats, military vessels, tankers, and any other seaman heading in or out of the bay. This side is also a safe-haven for multi-million dollar yachts, and home to the Navy’s nuclear submarine program.

The end of Point Loma is marked by its famous light house, which is a neighbor to the Cabrillo National Monument. The natural beauty here is Amazing, and the 360 degree views are spectacular! Heading north on the peninsula, the Fort Rosecrans National Military Cemetery is found on the rolling grass hills with perfectly manicured grounds. Further down the road is Point Loma Nazarene College, with arguably the most beautiful campus in California! The Midway District is only a few miles away and offers major stores, weekly swap meets, a sports & concert venue, and chain eateries.

Next to Point Loma on the map but intertwined socially is Ocean Beach. This beach carries hippy roots, and O.B. has done a great job maintaining the mindset of this movement. With many second-hand shops and smaller eateries, this area typically caters to those seeking the free-thinking and simplified lifestyles from years past. This area attracts shoppers focused on anything from trinkets to health food, and is home to Dog Beach and great surf breaks.

Residential real estate in the areas of Point Loma and Ocean Beach is eclectic in style and ranges from a one bedroom abode to an ocean-front monstrosity. There are quaint beach cottages remodeled responsibly, multi-family income opportunities, or large homes with views you have to see to believe. This area is central, quaint, and diverse, and is perfect for a primary home or beach getaway.
